Description

"We’ve all sat in on at least one presentation where the presenter was nowhere to be seen: a disembodied voice floating over a set of PowerPoint slides. While virtual teaching isn’t the same as being in a classroom with your students, there are ways to improve your stage presence and get in front of your students. This is important for remote teaching, HyFlex classrooms, and even remote meetings. We’ll talk about how to position your Webex or Zoom windows so that you can see your content, yourself, your students, and the chat window all at once. I’ll also suggest ways you can coach your students to adjust their own screen to maximize interaction. In this presentation I’ll show you how to display multiple items at once using a free program called Open Broadcast Software (OBS). OBS allows you to set up a virtual studio that can control multiple cameras, programs, and scenes. With a few clicks, you can jump to camera, browser, slides, programs, and or a whiteboard. I’ll also share some tips on getting your students active in the class."
