Making Cent$: Scaling Financial Literacy Components To Your Campus
2:00 PM - 2:30 PMFull Abstract
Whether you have a new program or an existing one, this session will cover a comprehensive program on SUNY Oneonta's campus that you can bring directly to your campus. Presentations, Event materials (including the popular “Game of Life” style event), Course Syllabi, and more are all immediately accessible to use as templates at your institution. Whether you have a full department, one devoted individual, or a committee from across campus to support your financial literacy efforts, this session will provide you with takeaways ready to implement!
After attending our session, attendees will have access to the following:
Materials for the Game Of Life event held annually at our campus as well as an invitation to attend in November.
A sample course syllabus for a one-credit financial literacy course
Over 10 presentation templates expanding beyond the standard Budgeting, Loan Repayment, and Credit presentations to include sessions on communicating about money in relationships, utilizing campus resources, the process of buying a car, and more.
Templates for the annual Debt Letter showing students their aggregate borrowing history, anticipated award, and estimated monthly repayment amount
Information on a Banner screen (developed by SICAS) that is used in counseling students on Loan Repayment
Three Student Internship Job Breakdowns
“Cash Cab” trivia questions and schematics
Key campus partners to collaborate with moving forward.
