Meeting students where they are, exploring key areas of collaboration, reducing duplication of effort and maximizing the use of data for all aspects of student success are critical aspects of meaningful assessment. How can effective assessment enable problem-solving? What are effective ways to assess applied learning? How can you really understand trends, forecast change and plan effectively? Do these practices change services such as advising? What are the best measures and methods of aggregating data in student service areas? This session explores how assessment, appropriate data collection and responsive collaboration can be leveraged as we overcome obstacles to serve current students, communicate our institutional stories, and prepare for the students of tomorrow. Examples of assessment of applied learning will be explored. Participants are encouraged to share experiences.
