Welcome.

To Universal Design for Learning

Welcome to the SUNY Universal Design for Learning for Student Empowerment Project!

We seek to provide support for SUNY to be a model of excellence of inclusive pedagogy in higher education by training SUNY faculty and instructional designers in the Universal Design for Learning framework.

We encourage you to register for at least one of the many professional development opportunities provided by this project:

  • Hybrid Workshops: An introduction to the Universal Design for Learning framework.  These two-day workshops are delivered over Zoom and supplemented with additional activities and instructional materials (available on D2L Brightspace).  Participants who successfully complete the requirements of this workshop (which includes designing a lesson plan based on the UDL framework) will earn a digital badge.
  • Asynchronous Online Course: A self-paced online course (delivered on D2L Brightspace) providing an introduction to the Universal Design for Learning framework.    Participants who successfully complete the requirements of this workshop will earn a digital badge.
  • In-Person Workshops: One-day, face-to-face workshops delivered on multiple SUNY campuses.  Participants from around the SUNY system are encouraged to attend an Introduction to Universal Design for Learning workshop on their own or a neighboring SUNY campus.
  • Access for All Webinar Series: A series of one-hour online webinars addressing specific topics of interest related to Universal Design for Learning and Accessibility in higher education. Can't attend? No problem! We will house the recordings for each Access for All Webinars on this site.

*Important note: This website will be where to find the most up to date information for each opportunity within the UDL project. Be sure to check back here to receive the most up to date information.
