“Individualized education” is an often-used phrase; it is a kind of ideal to which many of us aspire. However, in a world of decreasing resources and obsession with numbers, what can individualization even mean? Isn’t there a huge gap between our practices and our hope for individualization? How can we hold onto the values inherent in individualization at a time where competition and standardization rule the conversation and define institutional priorities? Are we only kidding ourselves? Our roundtable hopes to take up these kinds of knotty questions together.
