Carpools to leave from in front of the HAB / Student Union building at 4:30 p.m. $10 / car or free with Empire State Park Pass. Easy hike around a mountain lake. 20 minutes from campus.



Friday, April 5, outing to Spring Farm in the Mohonk Preserve (free!)
Carpools leave from in front of the HAB / Student Union building at 4:15 p.m.
Options to take an easy hike, do the rock scramble, or simply drive up and enjoy the view.

Explore New Paltz
New Paltz is well-known for its outdoor attractions, support of local artists and sustainability. Astronomy Night is back this week on Thursday, April 4 2019.

Please note that we are now on our “Spring” schedule (Planetarium shows at 7:30pm and 8:30pm, Observatory 8:30pm – 10:30pm)  Tickets for the planetarium shows will be available tonight at 8:00PM at our website: https://www.newpaltz.edu/planetarium/shows.html

The planetarium shows will be presented by graduate student Amanda Intrabartola.

Amanda says:
“Tonight, we are going to explore the nighttime constellations and their mythologies. The focus will be on the springtime constellations as we embrace the new season. We will end the night by exploring the planet Jupiter and its weather cycle.”

Planetarium shows take place in the John R. Kirk Planetarium located in the Coykendall Science Building. The first planetarium show will start at 7:30PM and the second show will start at 8:30PM (please see the start time printed on your ticket). Latecomers will not be seated due to the darkened environment inside the Planetarium, so please arrive on time. Tickets presented after the start time listed on them are void.

The Smolen Observatory will be open for viewing if the sky is clear from 8:30 – 10:30PM.
