Herding Cats: Differentiating Our Approaches to Faculty Support
1:55 PM - 2:30 PMPresentation Description
It’s no secret that our faculty are just as unique as our students. We recently completed a major overhaul to our faculty support model that required us to rethink and differentiate our approaches to faculty and training. Many of our faculty are unsure how to
define educational innovation and may be nervous to try new, or advanced educational technologies or
digital pedagogies on their own without support. This year, the Digital Education team at Marist decided
to be proactive and engage faculty by providing opportunities for collaborative discussion, content
building, and technology trials in our Digital Education lab. These engagement strategies included meet
and greet sessions, multi-day workshops, and open lab times.
This discussion will work to foster the support specialist and faculty relationship, working to identify possible solutions for implementing new technologies, identifying possible new tools, and facilitating new approaches to providing support and resources to key stakeholders and lifelong learners.
