"Reimagining Entrepreneurship"
2:45 PM - 3:20 PMPresentation Description
“Reimagining Entrepreneurship” is an interdisciplinary collaboration between faculty in the College of Business Management and the humanities-oriented Interdisciplinary Studies Program at SUNY Polytechnic Institute. We will explore developing an interdisciplinary project that seeks to integrate curriculum and experiential learning while bridging the liberal arts with professional education. Although challenging, we suggest that interdisciplinarity is necessary in order to navigate the contrary and conflicting imperatives to which our project responds: the call for universities to encourage students to develop entrepreneurial capacities, and the equally urgent social need to rethink and reimagine the values created and expressed through conventional entrepreneurial practices.
Learning objectives
1. to learn about practices for interdisciplinary collaboration
2. to learn about alternative experiential learning focused pedagogies for teaching creative and ethical venturing
Audience Engagement: Thought experiments coupled with question and answer.
