As an expert on applied learning, I am tasked with assisting campus’ on developing innovative ways to create partnerships that broaden student experience and employability.
Through collaborating with institutions around the world, students develop team-based problem-solving skills, intercultural competency as well as communication and digital literacy proficiency.
In my presentation, I will show how working with these international, outside entities and organizations can shatter pre-conceived cultural notions and help students to see roles for themselves in a global economy and foster a newfound passion for travel.
Additionally, all of these enhancements to the student experience helps instructors partner with other experts in their field. This type of international, team-teaching can act as further faculty, professional development.
The presentation will review how new technologies like streaming video, social media, and texting & chat applications can make an international partnership accessible and easy.
The audience will walk away with:
* Do’s & Don'ts for making international collaborations
* Informative case studies that testify to the value of international collaborations
* Tips on partnerships that can be scalable across disciplines
* Interactive exercises giving attendees a better understanding of how an applied learning criteria can be a template for building international partnerships
