Donna Simiele - Chair of the Quality by Design (QbD) Advisory Committee -- The QbD course was designed with the concepts of Community of Inquiry Model along with Universal Design, and makes use of the Open SUNY Course Quality Review (OSCQR) rubric to evaluate course design. Since 2010, Donna has worked in the Online Learning Department at Niagara County Community College (NCCC) in the position of Online Learning Technology Support Coordinator and Instructional Designer. Donna’s experience includes ADA compliance, online/hybrid course design, and Blackboard administrator. Donna also leads the NCCC Peer Quality Review Project as an ongoing initiative to provide high-quality online and hybrid courses to the NCCC community.  In addition, Donna has been an adjunct faculty for the Business, Technology, and the Arts Department at NCCC since 2002.

Chris Price
is the Academic Programs Manager for the SUNY Center for Professional Development. Previously he served as Director of the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) at The College at Brockport, State University of New York. He started working at Brockport after receiving his PhD in Political Science from the University at Albany in 2004. In addition to his work at CELT, Chris is an instructor for Brockport’s Department of Political Science and International Studies as well as the Master and Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies programs. Teaching and learning workshops he has conducted include discussion-based teaching, communicating effectively with students, collaborative learning, academic integrity, teaching with technology, and using critical reflection to improve teaching and learning. In 2013, Chris received the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service. He served on the Teaching Professor Conference Advisory Board from 2013-2015. Chris lives in Rochester, New York with his spouse Jessica Marten and his children Lucy and Henry.


Anne Reed
is Director of Micro-Credentials and Digital Badges at the University at Buffalo. She is a SUNY Expert Instructional Designer with over 10 years of instructional design experience. In her previous roles she has served as Lead Instructional Designer for the Graduate School of Education at UB, Instructional Designer for the Center for Educational Innovation at UB, and Program Manager for SUNY Center for Online Teaching Excellence. 



Steven Sturman
is an Instructional Designer for the University at Buffalo, School of Social Work.  He has been working with integrating technology into education for over twenty years.  He specializes in using multimedia, standardized patient simulations, and synchronous technologies to allow students to learn intervention strategies and develop practice skills in online and hybrid courses.  He is co-author of the blog, Helping Apps for Practitioners and Educators – HAPPE.  He is also the Chair of the inSocialWork podcast committee.


Roberta (Robin) Sullivan
is an Online Learning & Innovative Instruction Specialist for the Center for Educational Innovation at the University at Buffalo. Her role involves the development and implementation of online learning initiatives and encourages faculty and staff to explore and reflect on the use of emerging technology tools to expand tech-infused pedagogy. She received a Master of Library Science (MLS) degree and a Master of Arts in the Humanities (MAH) interdisciplinary degree with a focus in education and communication design from the University at Buffalo. Sullivan is a Co-PI for QbD and also leads two additional SUNY Innovative Instruction Technology Grants (IITG) including, Exploring Emerging Technologies for Lifelong Learning and Success (#EmTechMOOC) < http://suny.edu/emtech > and the Tools of Engagement Project (TOEP): On-demand Discovery Learning Professional Development < http://suny.edu/toep >. Sullivan has been recognized through a SUNY Faculty Advisory Council on Teaching and Technology (FACT2) Excellence in Instruction award, two Open SUNY Excellence in Instructional Support Awards, and the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service.


Cherie van Putten
is an Instructional Designer for the Center for Learning and Teaching at Binghamton University. She facilitates workshops for faculty and serves as a resource for faculty who want to pursue online and hybrid courses. Cherie holds Master’s degree in Adult Education from Penn State University. Her areas of interest include non-traditional learners, distance education delivery, and faculty development. Cherie has worked on the IITG funded Tools of Engagement Project (TOEP): On-demand Discovery Learning Professional Development for the past four years.
