SUNY Business Intelligence Introductory Analysis Training for IR and Other Professionals

Course Description

This 3 month self-paced/asynchronous workshop is for those interested in using the SUNY BI interface to access student data enabling them to create and share reports using the SUNY BI platform. Upon completion of this coursework, participants will be able to create custom data extracts from Student data from campuses’ SIRIS submissions. Participants will learn how to create data queries and to share the results of those queries with others through the virtual instructions, videos and exercises provided through the Brightspace platform.

Completion of this introductory coursework is strongly advised prior to creating custom queries in the SUNY System Administration Data Warehouse.

Enrollment for this course will completed on a monthly basis on the first Monday of each month starting on Monday, April 1, 2024. Those that register after 4/1/2024 will be enrolled in the class on Monday, May 6, 2024 and on the first Monday of each month going forward.

Dr. Stewart Dutfield

Following an international career spanning four decades in computers and telecommunications, Dr. Stewart Dutfield brings experience in business, technology, project management and leadership to increasing access, completion and success in Higher Education. Prior to his current role as an Analyst at SUNY System Administration, Stewart has served as teaching faculty at Marist College, Program Director at Excelsior College, and Department Chair at Columbia-Greene Community College. He enjoys constantly learning about aspects of campus operations, and strives to make the jobs of people in campus offices easier and more productive.
