Course Description
The SUNY Center for Professional Development's Project Management Fundamentals course is designed around the fundamentals of project management. The two day workshop takes learners through the project management lifecycle and helps attendees distinguish the differences between projects and operational processes. This workshop seeks to provide a common framework and language to use when managing projects and when working on project teams at your institution. The focus of the training is to help SUNY employees understand the concepts and improve their project management skills by applying these concepts in real-world exercises. The course uses the NYS Project Management Guidebook from GOER (Government Office of Employee Relations) as a foundation.Your class will be taught by one of CPD's three certified PMP's (Project Management Professional). Jon Brennan, former CIO at Hudson Valley Community College, Christa Glassman, Director of the Project Management Office at ITEC, or Paula Cancro, Dean of Online Education and Instructional Design at The College of Westchester.
Who should attend?
The workshop is designed for those new to project management who have little or no formal training. The course is a fundamentals course, and does not deep-dive into course topics.
